I stayed here for a night while visiting the nearby caves, and I truly enjoyed the walk to Peak Cavern which was just a short distance away. My room was very clean and overall comfortable, although it felt a bit small for my tastes. The meal I had at the pub restaurant was excellent and hit the spot after a day of exploring. I appreciated the free parking, which made things hassle-free!

The Standard Twin Room was clean and had essentials like free toiletries and tea facilities. We enjoyed a hearty dinner in the pub restaurant. the proper chips cooked in beef dripping really hit the spot after a long day outside. The atmosphere in the restaurant felt cozy, perfect for unwinding. Staff were pleasant and helped make our stay enjoyable. the twin room felt cramped for stretching out after hiking. Breakfast wasn't included, which was a letdown as we had to leave early before the café opened. finding the check-in location was confusing. clearer signs could help future guests avoid the same hassle.

Not exactly what I expected
Staff were friendly and helpful, making for an enjoyable atmosphere. The food, especially breakfast in the tearoom, was hearty and satisfying. ,
The bathroom noise from other rooms was quite disruptive—sometimes too loud at night, limiting the restful experience. ,

Had a lovely stay! The four-poster bed was super cozy, adding a touch of romance to our trip. Even better, breakfast wasn't just an afterthought. I savored the Derbyshire breakfast, which features local treats like black pudding and back bacon! The restaurant was hopping, and the atmosphere felt just right for a country inn.
Noise from the pub.

The pub had a solid menu with daily specials, and I especially enjoyed the minted lamb burger paired with excellent home-made slaw. The proper chips, cooked in beef dripping, added that classic touch to the meal that you wouldn't find everywhere else.
The room setup left a bit to be desired. I ended up in a twin instead of a double, which made for a rather challenging cuddle session. Plus, when I checked in, there seemed to be some confusion about room availability, which delayed our plans considerably. And don't expect breakfast to be included. you’ll need to fork out extra at the café.

The Deluxe Family Room was pretty nice. Both four-poster beds were cool, and the room was clean with a good hot shower. The only thing was that it felt a bit cramped with the two beds for a family. But overall, the comfort level was decent, and we had a nice stay.

Lovely pub with exceptional Sunday roast
I had a delightful time during my stay, especially enjoying the Sunday roast, which was one of the best I've had in ages. The staff were incredibly attentive right from our arrival, and the ambience of the restaurant added to the experience. On the downside, breakfast was a bit overcooked, but that didn’t overshadow the overall positive vibe of the stay.
